The accolade follows an inspection by the AA and means Derby's historic building is now accredited to 4 Star AA Rated Guest Accommodation by the UK, VisitBritain, VisitScotland and VisitWales.

This status was achieved after a spot inspection by a representative from the AA. For many facilities this can be a nerve wracking experience but the team at the Derby Conference Centre were quietly confident with their consistent high service standards. The star rating is reached by the assessment of three elements: (1) Overall Quality (2) Quality Qualifiers (the five areas of Quality being cleanliness, service, bedrooms, bathrooms and food); and (3) Provision of Services & Facilities.

The report stated that housekeeping was very attentive throughout, and it was a credit to the team. They also commented that the impressive full refurbishment that has taken place since the previous AA visit is apparent and that all bedrooms are now presented very well indeed, with 75% of the room stock having had new beds/mattresses, all with new decor, flat screen TVs and bathroom improvements implemented. It was also noted that the grounds and gardens at the venue are very well presented.

With 50 en-suite bedrooms including single, twin and double rooms, the accommodation at The Derby Conference Centre prides itself in catering to the needs of all customers.

The venue lends itself perfectly to both the corporate and private market place and the Derby Conference Centre is a week day hub of business activity. With delegates from across the UK attending conferences, meetings and exhibitions there, conference organisers enjoy the convenience of the guest accommodation onsite, allowing them to use just the one venue to host the event and delegates overnight.

Over the previous 12 months the centre has also seen a dramatic increase in demand for private hire usage, being used for fundraising events, parties, Christenings and ever popular for weddings.
